Uptrend and Downtrend
Moving Average is a most powerful visual tool for trend analysis. When price action is above the MA, and bounce off the MA. You can be sure that it is uptrend. It is also true, when price action is below MA, and price action bounce off below MA. It is bearish.
Price action changes direction when price action crosses from below MA and continue to be above MA. The price action changes from downtrend to uptrend. Price action changes from uptrend to downtrend, when the price action cross below MA, and continue to stay below MA. Price action is changing from uptrend to become down trend.

The below chart, the fast MA crosses above slow MA, and the fast MA continue to stay above the slow MA. You can also find the price action continue to bouncing off above the MA; 20 MA.
It is quite sure that this stock has been on the uptrend from August 2015.
20 MA and 50 MA are wide apart, the trend will maintain until the two MA start to close up.
