Where are the cash gone to? Every market is cashing out, for China market started from June. Last week US market has joined the fun and rush to cashing out too. Just look at Dow Jones Industrial Average, on August 24 alone was down for 1000 points and closed the day at 580 lower.
You may ask where are all the money now. For US, the concern is if the money does not spend in American, it must be flow out of American.
In today global market no way for any market to avoid the influence from the other market.
