Buy and Hold is Dead!

October 29, 2014

For many years, money managers, portfolio manager, investment manager and brokers have asked you to stay invested; you will make money in the long run. True? Is this true? Many will cite you the success story of Warren Buffett. Unfortunately, this has not been true for quite some time. See the charts from 1990 for details. Chart worth a thousand words.

In fact, over the past ten years, all major averages are negative. Many Buy and Hold investors have lost money, and given the current and future economic environment, this pattern is likely to continue.

It’s clear that you cannot rely on your money manager to protect your wealth. This is a responsibility we all must assume for ourselves.

In order to manage your own money, and make money in a volatile market, you have to learn how to buy and sell yourself.

Learn how to understand current economic and stock market cycles, how to anticipate future economic and stock market cycles, and how to position yourself so that your investments never become a burden.
