MACD scan is one of the conservative way to identify the potential movement of a stock. However, MACD is a much lacking indicator. This could be advantage for some of the part time trader. You could have more time in buy or sell the stock.

Besides that MACD signal is just like thunder and lightning. It warns that might be
raining. It is wise to see raindrops (price action) to confirm that it is raining (the stock is bullish or bearish). Or you might be able to relate it better with traffic light, traffic light gives you the indication of turning if coming. But do you have to stop, No, as the light may stay green when you drive pass the junction. Right?
